This is Shimonoseki’s famous Blowfish festival. You can buy Fuku Sashi [Raw Blowfish], other Blowfish products and fresh seafood from the ocean at Haedomari Market which handles the most Blowfish in all of Japan. The festival is a popular tourist attraction and draws many people every year.

The Fish Festival is one of the biggest festivals in Shimonoseki. You can buy fresh fish like Blowfish, Sea Bream, Yellowtail and other marine products at inexpensive prices. It gets very busy and lively with huge crowds of people. You can also enjoy eating popular food such as the ‘Super Jumbo Fuku Nabe’ which is soup of Blowfish and vegetables cooked in a hot pot that is more than 3 meters in diameter. People really love it!
