Castle Town Chofu self-directed walking tour

 

Castle Town Chofu prospered during the Edo period under the feudal lord, Chofu Mori. Later it became an important location for supporters of the Meiji restoration. You can still see a samurai tenement, mud walls or an alleyway from the Edo period. Experience Japanese history by walking through this historical town. The Castle town tour takes about 40 minutes.

Karato self-directed walking tour

 

Karato, the town of ‘the roar of the waves’, has been a busy port town for a very long time. It has both an old fashion atmosphere with its retro styled buildings and a modern atmosphere with its current waterfront. The walking tour has a great variety of sites to see including many retro style buildings, a modern aquarium and the Akama Shrine. Together, the bus ride and the walking tour take approximately 90 minutes to complete.
